- new plugs... well Eyelets, and a new nose ring.



I was going for the "conservative" look for Tuesday, you know less
shiny hoop, more flesh-tunnel, close to the surface look. DG hates the
nose ring, I kind of like it, seems much less bulky and stays centered
more easily. Next week I am going to try and even the ears out a bit
more...

more later... I am getting flack about taking a break, I guess LJ is
the devil.

I just opened a CD from Woody with a whole bunch of pictures from the
set. Here are a couple with all the spoilers deleted. that's Woody with
the big mustache.

The videos are going to be beautiful, Dean did some amazing work...but
that kind of goes without saying. I am encoding all the BRoll today as
soon as I find my car keys... my half terrabyte is lost in the trunk
somewhere...

An early and crazed day... Met my father well before any of you were
awake, prolly before some of you went to sleep stopped in at the
Vascular lab and went down to Palos Verdes to meet the cable installers
and get his 802.11x set up. Everything went smoothly, and I was ahead
of schedule, so I ended up heading over to Retail Slut to check in and
have Trish hook me up with the House of Freaks for a bit of Macintosh
911. I ended up doing a complete backup and reformat, setting up a
wireless network, and lining up a website for them I am going to do
sometime next week. WhooWhoo. Apple finally called as well, I had a
long "phone interview" that was nothing short of amusing, I think the
woman I was chatting with was about to laugh as well, because my life
really is... Bizarre. I am very excited to be speaking with them again
on Tuesday, so everyone think good thoughts for me. Oh... So after this
long day at the House of Freaks, the boss drags me into the piercing
room to look at my ears, and I could sense the concern in his voice. He
was extremely disappointed with the last few batches of piercings and
decided we needed to take some swift and decisive action. Out came the
rings, the very infected tissue surrounding them stretched to a new set
of 8's, straightened, and a few holes retired in hopes of saving the
remaining. A new, beautiful 7/16" almost black purple glass plug slid
in effortlessly. Clutching a sack of products and stern warning, I was
on my way... Preparing for a long, long journey back to DG's, 14 hours
later, but feeling happy, productive and ready to take on the world.

Most people look at me like I am insane when I tell them I am focusing
my time on Bloging & RSS feeds, many have never heard of either of
these before, or don't quite understand how these two are intertwined
and what they can be used for. It is exactly the same reaction I was
getting from people when I was making websites so long ago... What is
it for, why would anyone bother to go to some website that is basically
an advertisement for a band or movie.... Blah, blah... I don't have to
give you too much of that, because we all know about it now. I guess
the "new" suite of tools I use on a daily basis really are a change of
application class from the "browsers". I have agents scouring the web
for me, spiders indexing and archiving potentially interesting
information, scrapers chipping off the newest posts (MP3/AAC scrapers
out finding the latest files posted) Most of my friend's blogs are
listed in my RSS Reader...although some of them I still do read in a
browser, so that I can make comments. I use my browser these days for
the Social Networks I am engaged in like MySpace, LJ, GJ, SG, Tribe,
JetGroove... You know...all the usual spots. I look at my RSS feeder (I
use NetNewsWire on my Mac, waiting for the new version of Safari to be
released with Tiger... But I may keep using NNW - I really like the
"post to weblog" feature, although I only use it for private posts.)
and realize almost all of my news comes from the two dozen feeds that I
subscribe to there... From " The Superficial - Because You're Ugly",
SmartMobs, BoingBoing, and BlabberMouth, to SONY music artist feeds,
news, and weather.

I am convinced we are about to see a shake up the entire online
marketing business, with companies scrambling to embrace Blogs and RSS feeds as a new method of communicating with their customers.

Ummm... a privacy protection system being developed by
Hewlett-Packard jams electronic cameras, hmmm...banking & SMS-customers who remit more than $2500 into a third party account online receive a text message on their cellphone, which they must enter online within three minutes to complete the transaction...refusal to enforce
antitrust laws and regulations and the refusal to enforce property law
have caused a plague of parasites...
