tired, so damn tired
We were planning on spending the evening with all access to AMEN, filming them behind the scenes and in the rehersal studio out in the 818. The Bass drum was broken, so we ended up sitting around the house chatting about inspiration. We watched the opening of Irreversable (I am stunned by that film, but STILL haven't made it through the entire thing yet), we clocked a streetwise DVD, which I thought was really cool for a PR firm to be putting out Video DVDs for music fans. We checked out some old footage of the band on some French TV shows, and ended up watching an Alejandro Jodorowsky documentary. It was incredible to realize how early he was active as a radical thinker, pushing the envelope of the avant-guarde for decades, not as a modernist myth but in actual practice.
Eventually we headed back into town and headed towards Mecca (Amoeba to the rest of you) but were headed off by Loud as Fuck Johnny. We all met at Hot Topic (don't say it - I think that store is really great humour) and headed up to the Freaky Friday party with some of the Halo Friendlies. Jason and I weren't " cool enough to get in " , so we went to Pink's for some late night devistation. When we finally got "home" we realized our exhausted selves had lost the keys. No damn keys! We ended up going to the Brotel and lounging for the night. Met my father this morning to get my wallet back (are you seeing a theme here) and have been avoiding doing ANY of the difficult work that needs to be done today (at least I have escaped for the moment)

Hot Topic's okay. if people think it's a bad store, well, I dunno where else people are expected to pick up knick-knacks in a regular shopping area. Tower Records maybe; nowhere else around here.
