I don't know if I bothered to mention I am STILL in Los Angeles.
I can't find it in myself to leave, I really feel like I need to be here right now and get things settled, as much as I need to get to Amsterdam and deal with some pressing engagements. I called the airlines Thursday morning at 5:00AM, *cough, cough* I can't fly due to illness...*cough, cough* fortunately I have a big seat up front, so they didn't ask any questions, just a simple...sir, call us when you feel better and we'll get you on the next convenient flight home...
I love it when that happens...
Thursday, I spent the day with one of my best friends in LA, we went to the infamous Rockies for 3x3's and headed down to his set in Venice to say hello and do some furniture shopping. I went to my little sister's for a few hours and headed out with another friend Rick to check out the Aliens at Lava Lounge. Dave from the Earthlings/Mondo Generator was there, and waxed poetic about his sound engineer (on stage) who was jumping around twiddling knobs on a synth straight out of the Smithsonian (Dave did mention they had tried to buy the thing).
Friday I discovered my phone completely dead, I was wondering why I hadn't heard from the most important person in my life...and well...
I am praying it is the charger, tweaked from too many voltage changes in transit...It is really hard to find a good tri-band.
We set out to an old friend's opening at 410 Boyd street, in downtown and ran into some other old friends I had not seen for years, and some I am reconnecting with. We ended up in Silverlake and had fun political arguments into the wee hours of the morning with veteran punk rock stars from 400 blows and The Germs...Everyone was making a concerted effort to hook me up, I thought that was such a nice gesture, when I realized I was at a newlywed's house, with a bunch of happy couples. That was really different, and quite cool for a change.
Saturday has been a struggle because of the damn phone thing, we are trying to sort out the plans for tomorrow at the country club down in Palos Verdes, and I am trying to get my ass over to the Weenie Roast. It will be a major struggle to keep the evening mellow so I won't be broken into a million little pieces *grin - read the damn book* tomorrow at Father's day brunch...
I guess I am going to head out next week sometime, locks in tow...to Haarlem. Mikey is doing some shoots over the weekend, I am very excited to have some real pictures to post instead of my mug...temptess keeps tempting me, but that has been a struggle for both of us I have a feeling.
So that's what's been going on...there are a bunch of little dramas as well, but I am going to wait until they get really juicy to post...

Am I insane not to get on a plane for this?
Do I follow Tim and Stacia's advice and just try to live my life without letting the actions of others govern me...
I want to think positive and be happy.
I want to live without fear, and do what I feel is right.

I only cared about the title because a few ppl on the site seemed a bit thin skinned about use of the word/ I think I'm going to keep the title as is, and change around at least the front cover.
On a separate note, I'll be getting DVD Studio Pro later this week. I'd initially thought I'd hold out until v2.0 shipped, but that's now looking like late August and I figured that 2 months of getting slightly acclimated to the program was worth the $40 it will cost me to have Apple ship me 2.0 when it hits the street. Can you recommend any good programs for taking still images and presenting them in video format? One of the many projects I have in mind is to create a showcase for some of my photos & images via DVD.
