Is it true that you never really appreciate what you have until it is gone, or at least slipping from your grasp...I feel that way about my sanity these days...
Mike, Jason and I are trying to drink away our SARS exposure in Thorbekeplein - we did eat some kangaroo earlier, but most of the evening has been consumed by electronic pinball, horror stories of Dutch (lack of) service, agent provocateur sightings, and copious amounts of alcohol. The chandelier dropped from the ceiling earlier, and almost crushed me, which Jason managed to parlay into numerous rounds of free drinks (not really - it's Holland, but we did manage a free round instead of a lawsuit).
The sun finally came out (It's 7:00 at night so we still have an hour or two of sun) but we seem to have settled into the bar.
Some additional friends showed up - and we had a bit of dinner and some conversation. We had an argument about doing spec work - which I refuse to do at this point in my life. The old what comes around goes around around or vice versa... however the saying goes...it is so much wasted air on me these days, because the bottom line is if someone respects what you do they will find a way of compensating you for the work. PERIOD.
I had to leave early, and get to my bath.
I am feeling so fed up with everything and everyone these days it is hard to be sociable
