if you'll accept a thought from a total stranger, consider option # 3- rather than throwing energy into hoping OR forgetting, you could just pursue the other things and people and experiences that make you happy, or that you think *could* make you happy. Options 1 & 2 both sound a bit like they put someoneelse at the center of your world- maybe it's time *you* got to be center.
You might also think about waiting a bit before you submit a set. The photos might be more fun, have a better chance & be more a reflection of your best self if they didn't happen right smack in the middle of your despair...

Welcome to Insomnia. whether naturally or chemically induced, sleeping becomes a skill rather than a necessary body function. Great, ain't it. The only way I have been able to sleep properly for the past couple of years has been involentarily taking a sleeping pill (Really...No one wants a horribly insane HexX running around the streets all day and night long). Also, Exhausting yourself by physical exertion is a good option as well...Well, that's my insight.
