Had a very pleasant surprise at work yesterday with a visit from the ultra sweet Kit and the equally lovely Kogii. If you're reading this - thanks chaps, you really brightened up my day; hope it won't be too long before you spread some more sunshine in Piccadilly Records...
Went to see the excellent and supremely sexy Sons And Daughters at Night And Day in Manchester last night:
...and I heartily recommend that if you get the chance to take in their exuberant, slack jawed, unpretentious blend of punk, folk and rock'n'roll you do the same. This is what the White Stripes should have sounded like. I could have watched Adele Bethel all night . Chance'd be a fine thing...
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY?:
From Epicurus (again!):
"It is not so much our friends' help that helps us, as the confidence of their help."
"There is no such thing as justice in the abstract; it is merely a compact between men."
With reference to the first, I'm grateful to everyone who sent their kind comments to my last journal entry!
And to the second, I've come to think that " justice" and "rights", along with "truth" and "freedom" are amongst the most misunderstood and overused words in the English language. Anyone care to have a friendly debate on that point?
