I met a guy on the Metro today. He is 59. He just came up to me at the 7th and Metro station and asked "What is your secret?"
"What do you mean?"
"To being so gorgeous."
Oh, I see. I said I suppose I got it from my parents. This pleased him. He told me that The Lord told him that life is short, so when you see a fox you have to let them know that it's because of what god gave them.
Then I was of course waiting for him to ask me for money or something like that. He didn't though. However, he did tell me about everything that was going on in his life. It was hard to hear him at times because he didn't seem to know that you had to raise the volume at which you speak when there are other noises around, like a train going by. From what I heard I got that he was put into a coma when he was younger. Not sure how this happened but it might have been gang related, I didn't quite hear him. He told me it was like god giving him a second chance. With that second chance he is attending auto mechanic school. He said he had kids. His youngest son lives with his mom and she lets him walk all over her. He said the kid got drunk and knocked her down the other day. He does not approve.
He asked if I was familiar with Jesse James and West Coast Choppers, I am. He informed me that James charges $300k and up for a custom made motorcycle. He thought that was ridiculous. Nobody has that kind of money, and anyone who does could never care about a custom made bike like someone who can't afford it would. He has plans to open up his own shop, one that is affordable. He also wants to teach motorcycle maintenance lessons to ladies once he has his own shop. He also wants to write a book. He's going to call it something like Perro: the biker dog... no, that's not really it. I can't remember what the title was but I remember him explaining that "perro" means dog in Spanish and his nickname is the biker dog so, Perro.
He told me his name but he didn't say it loud enough so I didn't hear him. I don't feel too bad about it though because he couldn't hear me when I told him my name. I just let him call me Nicky. I hope he gets that shop open. I hope he gets everything he has plans for in life.
