who uses the word "ugly" to describe other women more often? men or women? I find it, it's the women who call other women ugly more than the men....the men do that cocky "she's alright" comment rather ...than just say the "she's ugly" retort.
............................................................something I wrote somewhere else............................................
why are girls so quick to use the word "ugly"...when describing another girl?
yeah....it's just a word and a matter of their opinion...but for the sake fo this thread, it's kind of...more.
more than guys...girls call each other "ugly" even though the girls they are pointing at aren't really that ugly at all. The girls these "ugly" ranting females point at usually fall in the category of being plainly cute or hot. This one friend of mine who was very chubby...called jennifer lopez ugly.... it's not that I find my friend to be ugly herself but I would think that she'd be humble enough to not blurt out that description especially when JLo...as unliked as she is...isn't "ugly" at all.
I usually save the word "ugly" for something like... really ugly.....Rosaenne Barr for example is ugly because she doesn't take care of her health, acts a certain way to make herself even uglier...like grab her own crotch and spit all over a mound, and she dresses like she lives on the bad side of a trailer park community. The way she carries herself and others is simply...ugly.
I also hear people call Pamela Anderson "ugly.." say what you will about her appearance...that she's a skank, a ho, all plastic, and etc...but she's not "ugly" at all. Pamela Anderson isn't the most beautiful woman in the world...What she is is "hot" because she does take care of herself and even though she may not do it for certain types of people because of where's she's been...that doesn't mean she's "ugly."
same goes to paris hilton....
I pointed this thing out to another girlfriend of mine who called a certain nude model ugly...She said it's because "you guys" don't have "a high enough standard." which I completely disagreed with because it's not about a high standard...it's more about being humble enough to accept that not everyone is going to be beautiful and that it doesn't hurt to admit that hey..."that girl is pretty cute."
Most Guys I've known will only say "ugly" when a person is completely butchered by a bunch of ugly branches... When a guy checks out a girl...they usually say "she's alright..." Whenever they would say "she's alright" in relations to a celebrity, I can't help but mock them. I always tell those guy that "I bet if she was someone on the street with no celebrity status...you'd be all over her...but because she's in maxim/in a movie/or is liked by a bunch of fanboys...your ego is super anal."
so anyways......I'd prefer that girls just say "she's alright"...instead of being so trigger happy with the word "ugly."

I agree that it's women who uses that phrase more often. They are, however, morel ikely to call girls they like "cute" that guys may call ugly. Or something like that. Did that make any sense?
