the more dead bodies people see
the more insensitive people will be
where it's not so much a tragedy
but a morbid fascination that'll only lead to boredom.
It irritates me what I see in the media coverage of the SE tsunami tragedy. We all know over 150,000 people are dead.
Do we really need actual proof by seeing their dead bodies floating in the waters bloated and torn up....in newspapers, on tv, or in forums? I know I'd hate to see a relative plastered on the internet so others can gawk at it.
let the dead have some dignity....no need to degrade those who were once people to be categorized as dead bloated masses...all the while having those still living go "oooo" and "ahhhh"...."that's messed up" as they gawk even further.
what purpose does that serve anyone except for a morbid fascination........that only desensitizes people rather than have them be more sensitive towards the tragedy. I think a more effective way....to bring back people to humanity are images of those suffering and still surviving. I rather see a tormented soul who lost his whole family than a whole family face up on the ground......
emotionally, it's more effective that way.
