damn, cultural differences and reactions vary fully from country to country.
Today, I almost had a fight with my flatmate.(by fight means physical, lebanese way)
and I am the main idiot...
I went into the kitchen, and I saw two of my flatmates looking at a magazine, I looked at it its men's health this month.
They usually don't buy magazine. So i assumed that he took it from my room without permission (since I don't lock it).
and I was very very angry, and instead of really calming me down he started laughing ( a sign of lying in lebanese culture), so I took the mag and put it next to me, so he got very very angry (another sign of lying in lebanese culture: shifting from joking to menacing wanting to fight mood).
He threatened me, and I really want to hit his hard with the frying pan that I was cooking with...
Anyway, the other swiss flatmate explained everything to me.
Cultural differences: he gave all the signs that for a lebanese man its considered lying.
and I said a very insulting thing: being accused of breaching the privacy of someone's home or room is very very insulting in swiss culture.
Bahhh I feeeeeeeeeeellll sooooooooooo stupid...
I am gonna have to buy some beer for the guy.
(oh we made peace after the other swiss explained to both)...
but damn stupidity..and its 99% my fault.
pfff...maybe sleeping 11 hours in 3 days with 4 exams all at once killed any sense of logic, but that's no excuse...
