I stole this story from Kers. Hope you don't mind! But I'd like to know what you think (as would she on her page):
Not very long ago there was a farmer who liked waking up very early and walk through his land. One morning he found an egg on the road, so he picked it up and took it to his house and placed in the hen house with the other eggs. Time passed and all the chicks were born, including the one of the egg the farmer found. He was different from the other chicks, but he was part of the family and everybody accepted him and loved him. He learned what all the others learned, he looked for the juiciest worms, he woke up early to sing to the sun as father rooster did, and grew up as a farm chicken. One day he saw a big shadow over him and turned his head to the sky. Usually chickens don't look up to the sky, so he was amazed with what he saw. Shining with the sun light, surrounded by blue infinity there was a magnificent condor spreading his wings dancing with the wind. In that second the chick felt an itch, he felt in his heart that he was meant to fly like that huge bird displaying its greatness above him. His sister noticed that he was looking at the sky and told him "Brother, what are you looking at? The worms are in the ground" and he answer, "Look sister, that bird looks just like me. Do you think I can fly like that?" so his sister answered "You are a chicken, you grew up like one, everyone in your family is a chicken, and you should behave like one." So the condor/chicken realized he had a big decision to make, he could fly and do what his heart told him to do, but he would loose his family and the life he knew, or he could stay with his loved ones but never learn how to fly. What would you do?
