hi
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukh, and all of that rot.
the problem is pretty much taken care of
thank you for all of the advice
it turns out the problem is *drum roll*
THE PRINTER!!!
isn't it always the printer somehow??
basically, if the USB cable to the printer is plugged in when I try to boot, it can't boot.
I took it out, it worked fine
(oh, and I also had to go to system setup and tell it to start booting from Drive C again. . .I'd turned it off before, since there was no Drive C).
so, the Dell people were right about one thing. . .but make no mistake, they have totally jumped the shark, they don't even help "preferred" customers anymore. They just wanna send you to the "fee based" Dell On Call system as quickly as possible.
Figures.
Apple are the same way.
so, I didn't lose anything, but I have to install all my programs over.
Question, where the fuck does Firefox store bookmarks? I need to import my old ones to the new drive so I can use them.

It that doesn't work, I ask my mom who used to work with computers or take it in to the IT guy at work I'm friends with. If that doesn't work, I take it to this great computer store I bought it at, EMicroX
Since you are having such problems with Dell. You will probably find
this funny. Click on Tech Support 1 and 2. I should warn you, it's very unkind about foreign outsourcing and kinda makes fun of people from India.
