Trust yr mechanic to fix yr car....
two weeks ago, i took my car to das autohaus in lawrence to get a tune up and some things fixed. everything was fine, i'll probably never have a/c again, but at least my fan works now. there was only one part they needed to install, but had to order it, so yesterday i went back down there to have it installed. dropped it off at 3, they said it would be done by 5. no problem, i hoofed it to Mass. st. and walked around in the sweaty bedlam of the sidewalk sales and oppressive heat sporting a wifebeater, my t-shirt in my back pocket to wipe my face. i only stopped twice, to get some gelato and a cup of coffee, and then to get a replacement cord for my necklace. on the way back to the shop it looked like it might rain, so i went to put on my shirt and promptly dropped it in a dirty puddle. nice.
One thing's fixed, another falls apart....
well, the part i drove all the way to lawrence for is installed and functional, BUT on the post-repair-test-drive a pin in my gear shifter snapped, rendering the car undriveable. they'll get another part asap, but no dice today...no worries, i walk from 10th to 19th to see if my one friend in lawrence is home. he's not so i get a phone card and call my mom. an hour later she picks me up and brings me home. when i check my messages:
"hey, its Rob, i'm going down to lawrence today, maybe go to the love garden, was wondering if you wanted to go. maybe next time, later...."
i was probably 20 feet away from him the whole time. beautiful choreography.
so i call the shop today to see about the part.
no car till monday. hopefully.
looks like i'll be riding my bike to work. this wouldn't normally be an issue, but its SO FUCKING HOT OUT!...
oh well. in the grand scheme of things this aint so bad. just a nasty little pot hole on the road. but thats my news.
