so i'm in chicago right now, baking cookies at my friend's house...my friend's parents' house...nobody's home, it's kinda cool, but they don't have a stereo in their kitchen like i do at home...
anyway, baking cookies for dawn and nils of Faun Fables, who i'm going to see tonight. can't wait. went to the museum of science and industry yesterday and saw the Body Works exhibit, which was pretty crazy. its a bunch of dead people who have donated their bodies for this - totally skinned and posed, some kinda exploded so you can see the inner workings. some are just blood vessels, some are just organs, but most of them are entire bodies, cock, balls and all.. one guy is standing there holding his entire skin in his hand. one guy is cut into five slices, and you can recognize his tattoos... its really crazy, but not morbid. it almost looks fake. they've been plastinized - soaked and dried in acetone and then pumped full of polymers and plastics so they're preserved and safe. don't even smell. the coolest one is the horse rider. the horse has been plastinized as well, and the rider is holding his brain in one hand and the horse's brain in the other. i got the impression that the doctor who invented this was more interested in using dead humans as art than to educate about the body, but he used education as his foot in the door to allow this to happen...i think what kept it from being morbid at all is the fact that none of them are lying down in the typical "dead" pose...
this is gonna be rough from here... after the concert, i pretty much have to go straight to the airport. my plane leaves at 6:45 and i'll be back in town at 8:10... if i woulda known that they were gonna give me the entire day off at work, i woulda gotten a more reasonable flight time... sheesh. i did the same thing coming here. after working 12 hours on saturday, i left at 4am to go the airport and ended up being awake for over 30 hours before i finally crashed out last night around 11. slept for 12 hours, woke up feeling kinda stoned... i hope for the sake of my piss tests that sleeping in a room with plants doesn't really do anything to you...i can't imagine that it would.
OK, back to cooking.

I wish that we had gone to see the Body Whatever exhibit when we were in Chicago but there was so much to do it was insane. Go to Millineum Park and walk around. That silver bridge thingy is cool. I loved Chicago.
