an interesting and exciting intro to the new season of the life show, indeed:
the debut episode of the new season included both an exciting new character and a further development of a recurring minor character.
either could become co-stars; my writers predict we'll be seeing much more of both. the predicament is that both have romantic potential, pros, cons and complications while the protagonist is not a juggler--he's a one-or-none kind of guy.
it would take far too long to write out how the entire show went down--instead of a special hour long episode, it stretched for two days. thus we compress via metaphor:
suddenly, mr. notoriously single finds himself facing a fork in the river--two equally lovely, intriguing directions from which to choose. the burning drive to find out as much as possible in a small, awkward period of time, to be alone with both of them and try to gain a sense of which path to follow became a night-long expansion of the split second of flailing, failing panic a man experiences when the too-much-stuff he's carrying in his arms suddenly shifts and begins to topple... instead of catching at least one piece of the impossible things, i caught nothing. luckily, nothing broke as it hit the ground-- it was romantic comedy gold and it's only vaguely predictible.
also, there was a guest appearance and performance by the band members of Granny Tweed.
