about 10 years ago, my best friend started dating a girl named lindsay.
i remember him saying 'i don't understand it. yr more compatible with her than i am.'
shit happened.
these days, lindsay and i are still very close friends.
her husband is in the military and they lived in germany until late last year.
i visited them in germany in january of last year and then ended up going to amsterdam on my own.
best vacation ever.
so they're now reluctantly back in the USA, living in washington, but her husband was recently re-deployed and she brought her daughter back to kansas to visit friends and relatives.
wednesday night we hung out.
about 5pm i went to pick her up and took us to lawrence, where we walked and talked and drank coffee and beers.
it was 1am at the Jazzhaus when we realized it was 1am.
being that i had to get up for work in 5 1/2 hours, we decided we'd better return.
we dawdled, driving around and talking, then sat in her driveway and continued to talk.
personal philosophies and views on food, politics, religion, parenting, the state of the union, music, art and so on...
the kind of conversation that makes time faster, makes cheeks sore and raises hairs on the body at times.
it was 3am when we finally said 'oh shit, its 3am'.
she has the same birthday as my twin soul, who recently has apparently found the love of her life.
his birthday was earlier this month, the same day as lindsay's husband.
7 days till my last day at work.
11 days till i move.
i remember him saying 'i don't understand it. yr more compatible with her than i am.'
