Another amazing weekend.
She arrived on friday night. we visited with mr. blacky mcfisto and then returned to my place where i cooked a pretty decent meal for us. then we slept till noon on saturday, went to Target for last minute items i needed for the show and then to Kinko's, where she helped me put together a bunch of CDs to sell..then it was time to load up and haul all my shit to Fred P. Ott's. Played the best solo show i've ever done, and then we came back to my place and has some laughs..some real fun, guys. I recorded the show, got a pretty good recording of it, but after hearing it, i wouldn't call it a GREAT show, just better than my others. we were up ridiculously late and therefore slept late again. i had a free dinner for two at Pizza Shoppe, so i took her there.. pretty ballsy move, taking a chicago girl out for pizza in kansas, and it kinda sucked, but it was acceptable. then to lawrence. i took the back routes, showed her what the majority of kansas is like, drove past the tractor graveyard, etc.. we went to Henry's and had coffee, then we just wandered for awhile, and then walked to Gordo's house. from there, we went to the Replay and watched my buddies' bluegrassish band, GC/DC play. back to my place once again, slept late again, then to the airport. my stomach dropped when i realized that the moment had arrived when she was leaving.
we'll be together again soon.. thats what keeps me going.
