halloween was a bust.
no candy.
i left my costume at my friend's house 2 years ago.
in new orleans.
forward.
the days of the fuckaround are over.
the last hurrah, what should have been
enough to let me fly for 2 days
fell 40 hours short.
after one hour of sleep
and 3 hits on the snooze bar
it took 5 minutes for me
to be up, dressed and out the door,
late to work again.
already feeling shitty, my boss went off,
and rightfully so,
but still garnered no respect from me-
he didn't look me in the eye.
now even shittier,
skipped class, didn't nap.
got a call from my friend, pissed off
cause he had to cover a call-in;
stuck at work all night.
i drove to lawrence alone
and went to the granada
to see a show i'd been waiting for
for 13 years.
and it paid off.
i danced and laughed and sang along
and handed all the girls a smile
for the next 5 hours.
