I hate telemarketers. Very much. They seem to prey on people. Well tonight I got a call from someone I knew in High School. We have a few mutual friends and hung out a bit, but he has never called me before. He said he had a question for me. I knew he wanted something from me, but I thought it was something along the lines of "do you have Hannah's new number?" or even maybe "Can I crash on your couch?" but lo and behold he asks me "Do you keep your options open for making extra income in your free time?" this statement sent me into a place of anger where I should definitely not have been during work. Luckily there was no one in the shop to hear me rant. I said some things that were not appropriate for the workplace and in hindsight I shouldn't have even answered the phone at work. But that was a prime example of the side of people I hate. I went to band with this kid, knew and talked to him for the year or so we went to school together. Yet, he feels perfectly comfortable hawking his bullshit pyramid scheme to me over the phone. But the night was not through with surprises.

There was a skirmish in the parking lot between some "thugs". I use the term loosely. I'm sure how it started but apparently one guy's girlfriend got involved. She punched, kicked, and threw rocks at the guy and he got a clean shot at her and knocked her down. What happened next was fucking amazing. The guy who hit her starts to walk away while the girls boyfriend is still talking smack. She runs up to the one who hit her and punches him in the back. Keep in mind he is at least Twice if not Thrice her size. He pushes her down again. Not a lot of malice in it, more like "get the fuck off me" kind of thing. She starts screaming to everyone working in the plaza because he hit her yelling "an' I'm fucking pregnant too! This nigga hit a pregnant girl! yall are witnesses! " While there are an immense number of things wrong with the situation even from the limited information I got, there is a point which I can't help but laugh/cry at the glaring ignorance of. A girl who is pregnant, decides to attack a guy several sizes bigger than her(several times too). Who the hell does that? You have the life of a fragile child inside you and you decide that it seems like a good idea to feebly attempt to fuck up someone who in all probability could EAT you !? then you try to use the fact that you're pregnant as a defense? The whole thing is so incredibly stupid it made me want to shave a whale.

but there was some good news too, I can't be ALL negativity. I got some cool stuff in the store's last shipment:
1)dvd of Ocean's Eleven (george clooney remake. dont remember ordering it but it was only $9)
2) issue 2 and 3 of the Gunslinger Born comic (freaking love this series)
3) hard cover volume 1 of All-Star Superman (the store never even ordered it but what the hell, it's another Grant Morrison book for my collection and it was $10)
4) Venture Brothers Season 2 finally came in!! (Cockpits and Boobytraps!!!!!!!)

I also got a 3 disc set of sci-fi channel's miniseries version of Dune for $6 at a shop in Key West. not a bad find by any means.

Well I'd love to stay and write some more but I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep...
