I always love when Lane gets a new set up. She was one of the big reasons that made me join the site and want to be an SG.
What a lovely lady.
Thanksgiving is coming up, which means my work week is shorter than my weekend (hehehehe). I can't go to Illinois and see my mom's family this year, so I'll be spending my first holiday with Nick's parents instead.
My mom did something recently that made me really really proud of her. She's been at the same job for nearly twenty years now, and recently she's been dealing with an extraordinarily nosy coworker - one who is so bad that she actually reads my mother's mail before puts it in her inbox. The stress created from this coworker (and the lack of actual help from the boss) has gotten so bad that my mother applied for a new job, and has an interview of sorts on Wednesday. It doesn't seem like a huge deal, except that I have many years of memories of my mother complaining about this woman, and that practically half her life has been spent doing the same thing for the same people. It's hard to change, and I hope this works out for her.
Additionally, I was told that my aunt and uncle may have this weekend made an audition tape for The Amazing Race. I don't condone reality tv, but I know my aunt is glued to that show, wishing like hell she could be going the places where those people go, and doing what they do. And I think she and my uncle (her brother) would make an excellent team.
So, as it stands, I'm very proud of some of the folks in my life right now.
In other news, work is all ups and downs. There are good days and bad. I deal. If I'm lucky, I shouldn't have to deal with it for more than a few more months.
