I think it's quite hard to find an honest person these days. Like someone who will be straight up 100% with you, not someone who is going to take your side in every situation. As in, I'd rather have a friend who will have my back for the right reasons, rather than someone who is just going to to agree with everything i say just because "they're my friend". Idk.

Its not a common trait to find. Most people I know seem to be preoccupied with "having" a friend rather than "being" a friend.

Being honest, and true about yourself I find works best when people first meet, they aren't friends, and have no desire to be. When that situation occurs, nobody cares about the reprocussions of brutal honesty, they speak truth easily and without issue, and if the two begin to become friends as a result, then that friendship is now built on the strongest of bases

The ones I think need to be watched out for are the ones who WANT to be your friend without even knowing you. These are the ones most likely to brown nose to you in order for you to like them

Personally, I don't think anyone should TRY to be friends with anyone, and that all friendships should evolve naturally

No, I completely agree with you. That's the great thing between me and my best friend, we know t be brutally honest with eachother no matter what, and if I'm wrong, she sure as hell will tell it to my face, just as I would to her. Just wish more people were like that. It's like people fear admitting that truth because they are afraid to lose that person as a friend, but really, I think honestly think it would make the friendship stronger
