Hello friends,
as you saw from some photos I shared from my Instagram's profile, I spent two beautiful days in Milan during Expo 2015.
I was very impressed by the fair (and I have to come back to see it again, because it is impossible to visit all the fair in one day!).
I think it's an important meeting point between cultures, peoples and territories in search of solutions to world's problems
I just hope that from this event can be born a real point of comparison.
Some pavilions are really impressive!
To my surprise the pavilion that struck me most was the UAE.
I was very skeptical about UAE pavilion , thinking that they had sought the usual extreme pomp and ostentation of their wealth, instead was greatly impressed by their work.
They have created a pavilion that recreates their land both in form and in the message.
The great high walls about 12 meters that recreate the desert dunes vertically and create a natural wind tunnel inside the pavilion which lowers the temperature by about 2 degrees on the inside; the vegetation of the place that accompanies all the way to the stand, in which are represented all the daily challenges in the desert and their technological research to overcome these problems.
The most touching part of the pavilion is the last part of the route where you watch a film with the screen 360 ° .
You watch a short film that compares a family of the emirates of the present day spoiled' rich and wasteful (such they waste water !!) and their ancestors forced to fight every day to survive in the desert against sun, sand, lack of water and food and the attack of wild animals.
See redemption in their eyes and their desire not to lose sight of their roots to improve the future made, really impressed me.
I think it must be precisely this message that must come out by this event: "remember who you are and where you come from" and commit to improve planet.
If only it were possible to make this message a true universal law, the world could be a better place.
The comparison between the different cultures, the curiosity to discover customs and traditions of others, their food, their music and art: approach the next and try together to build a better common future.
Kazakistan's Pavilion:
I would like the positive message that this fair wants to bring could be a starting point to build something positive.

If you're ever in Italy by October, I recommend you do a net Expo 2015.

I got to go to World Expo in 1988 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It made a big impression on a 13 year old boy. WOW I'm showing my age! Was a great experience, the one thing I recall that stood out for me was eating the different foods from around the world!

It sounds like quite an amazing experience. I will have to try and go sometime
