Fabric from the work room that will be put to good use in the near future.
Sight cannot be learned.
An art instructor of mine told me one day that he was going to teach me to "see".
You can be taught ways to measure and mix colors and be told the things you should be looking for. Ultimately though, there is a clear difference between those who have a natural gift and those who have been given tools to overcome a handicap.

Today I am left wondering a few things about my class. And by class I mean, 75% of the girls. Not everyone fits into this category, but too many for my liking.
~ Why aren't they more dedicated?
~ Why aren't they more creative?
~ Where are they looking for inspiration?
~ What do they really think of the quality of their work?
~ Why do they want to be fashion designers?
~ What do they think will make their ideas sought after or successful?
It's still very early in the program and most of them are fresh out of high school programs that probably did not prepare them to function in the world of art or design.
But I've encountered many people without formal training that possess more creativity in their little finger than I'm seeing lately in class presentations.
The ideas are cliche and boring. The images are stale and uninspiring. Half of the time the images don't support the idea. A lot of girls cannot explain their ideas or change the idea a number of times as they're presenting it. Many of them cannot answer questions about their work even after we were warned a week ahead of time of the requirements of the project. The next time someone uses the word "classic" without defining a time period and specific style I am going to ask them to explain in detail. A lot of people throw around terms they don't understand without confidence, making it very aparent that they don't know what they're talking about.

In other news: I got an A on my Fabric's midterm. And another A in Visuals today. I haven't gotten anything lower yet. Let's hope it stays that way.

I have no idea how much they cost, esp re: shipping, cuz they are German. I think you have to email them, because they also custome size it for you by diameter.
also i like the wall in your bedroom...
and those kids in your class are the types of people that drove me up the wall in school...they tend to weed themselves out eventually.
