Alright kids,

All is ok in the world of genetics... My instructor merely failed to watch the film she ordered from PBS before showing it to the class, and only learned how controversial it was while watching it with us in class. She honestly knew nothing about the film other than what was writtewn on the box, and had done no research on it, or who produced it!! Which is exactly the filmakers' and promoters' plan!!

As if that wasn't a smooth enough move, she then failed to say very much about it, for fear that any comments might spark a religion, creationist argument. I made it clear that neither were smart moves, and that she was lucky I hadn't met with all the people I had planned to.

Well, I'm glad to hear that she's not a creationist, and that it doesn't set the tone for the class, but I'm disappointed that an instructor would do such a irresponsible thing. She did make an announcement to the class today after I talked to her, and she tried to clarify her motives for showing the film, but honestly, I'm not sure anyone cared but me...
