The older I get, the more I see people with less common sense and common courtesy. What have those traits gone to? I think technology have made humans dumber as a whole. I feel it's a world of "what can get attention." Or "I saw this on the internet/news so it's true." I support Hustling but the stuff people do for attention sometimes make me sick. News gives you their boss point of view. The only thing I watch the news for is the weather because that part can come true.
I had an incident on Saturday morning that have been bugging me since then. My new friend ask about my Thanksgiving. It was great but now the second question comes along and she ask did we eat any cats/dogs. Now I wouldn't even get mad about it if she ask it as a form of question or told me about the subject of the question beforehand. I gave her a nasty look and didn't answer her, I maybe pointed out how stupid the question was. She told me she was wondering if the myth is true. Told her to look it up because it was a stupid question. She read about some Asians country that take part of a dog meat festival. Yes I'm informed on this too. Now she goes on to think "all Asians do." Now I tell her in America, we believe in animals right. Americans or even Asian Americans are not taught to eat dogs/cats. most of the world ban dog/cat meat but sadly a small part still do.
I'm trying to explain to her that she can't ask stupid questions like this to other Asian people. The biggest problem was her asking did my family and I have any during Thanksgiving. Of course not! Now, I'm mad about this stupid question she answer herself but couldn't put it together. I tried explaining how she ask me the question. I understand She rephrase it wrong but didn't want to own up to the first question she said wrong. Why the hell wouldn't I be mad. Now I called her stupid, yes I shouldn't have called her stupid but I did. I didn't apologize because I told her if you're willing to ask a stupid question with no "common sense" with the question and you still see it not as stupid question, then yes. You're a stupid person if you think that was not a stupid question.
I love stand up and I want to start doing open mics. She said It was a joke but I told her that she has to think before she ask questions. Have some common sense and common courtesy about what you talk about. she doesn't see what I'm trying to tell her, so she talks over me. So I told her it is what it is and peace. When I let them defense themselves but they won't let me defense myself, I get pissed (I think most people do). I don't have time to explain when she won't let me explain to her what she did wrong. Me calling her stupid was base on her believing the question was not stupid which was a stupid question.
Nobody perfect and I sometimes ask stupid questions. I will even admit if I'm wrong because I have common sense to understand that I'm wrong. Nobody right 100% of the time.
It seem like I'm all over the place with this story but I'm Asian and I'm better at math. Sorry for venting but I think common sense and common courtesy is lacking from people around the world.
