I've been streaming several nights this last week and LOVING it! I've met some great people so far and almost DOUBLED by followers in just a few days! Sure, it's only 19 right now, but it's a start! ;) That said, I had a question come up last night that I wasn't really ready for. One of my viewers asked if I was accepting donations.
I know it's possible for streamers to accept donations from their viewers, but I hadn't considered the possibility of accepting, let alone being offered a donation, just yet. I admit, I don't feel like I've earned the right to do so this early in my "career." It's not like I don't want to, by any means, but I'm still an unknown quantity in the gaming world. I haven't found my niche just yet, haven't established a "brand," and I don't even have a regular schedule yet! I feel like I have to reach a certain milestone before I can comfortably accept contributions from my watchers. The real question is, just when is that point?
I'm posing the question to any fellow streamers (or those of you who know any streamers); when do you think it's appropriate to accept donations/tips from your followers?
