I have always loved the idea of cosplay! There is a part of me that would love to become more involved in the cosplay community, though I have very little free time for conventions these days. Still, that never stops me from coming up with new ideas!
I like to play to my body-type, choosing characters who have a few extra pounds and round figures. Sure, I can cosplay as any character I want, but I feel like the end result will look better if I start with a body that matches my own.
Wreck-It Ralph
I love videogames! I LOVE this movie! I remember when the first trailer for Wreck-It Ralph was released; there is a scene where Vanellope asks Ralph, "Why are your hands so ridiculously large?" One of my roommates looked at me and immediately started laughing. "That's YOU!" I connect with Ralph on so many levels, so this in a real no-brainer for me. Now all I need is someone to dress up as Vanellope for photo-ops. Any takers? ;)
Soos (Gravity Falls)
Another character who I connect with on multiple levels, Soos is my favorite character from Gravity Falls! I also do a fair impression of the character! This one would be a simple, casual costume that shouldn't take a lot of effort to put together. Maybe I could even get one of my nieces/nephews to be Dipper and Mabel! Family cosplay for the win!
Bowser (Super Mario Brothers)
Now this is the BIG build! I have an idea for a more human, armored design for the King of the Koopas. I'm not entirely sure I could actually pull it off, but if I ever did it would be a major achievement! Horns, claws, spikes, the shell; there would be so many little parts to pull together, but it would be worth it. I should really learn to work with worbla...
