Simple pleasures are important. One of my favorites is waking up, not by alarm or some such business, but when dreams and reality weave together as your senses begin to reawaken. If only for the briefest moment dreams become vivid reality.
For as long as I can remember I've used this moment to stretch, it's like I'm feeling for the first time and the sheets are so soft and comfortable. No matter what is going on in my life that moment remains untainted. The world can come crashing down after, but for the briefest hiccup in time nothing exists except the comfort.
Any simple pleasures you hold on to?

Don't know how many bands out there have a tuba, but this one is boss.

Your post made me think how much I love bed though. Freshly laundered sheets make me abundantly happy.
There's also the grocery store aisle that has marinara sauce jars. Many a time I've contemplated knocking a few jars over just so I can inhale the wonderfully robust fragrance, but the staff would probably be against this. Funny thing is I don't like tomato slices, but I guess that doesn't really count because a lot more work and ingredients goes into creating pasta sauce...
I go absolutely mad for a girl or guy in freshly laundered clothes. Heavily floral- or perfume-like fabric softener is offensive, so I prefer the more subtle, clean-smelling scents and textures... Even better on "t-shirt" jersey knit sheets. If I hug someone with just that evocative aroma will have me burying my face into that person's shoulder.
Among others, I can't forget the simplicity of catching up with a friend over a smooth but bold cup of coffee.
Edit: I probably should have just answered you in my own blog instead of mucking up your comment section, huh?
