I had to vent somewhere. Don't read the wall o' text hidden in the spoiler. Instead, tell me what made you smile today.

I'm telling you, you really don't want to read it.
My oldest brother and his very old friend were talking about how the internet is bad for society. My point was that it is great for society, and unfortunate that stupid people use it. So, many arguments were thrown out, and eventually came to the Federal Reserve. My point was that it is not government owned. It's owned by some of the wealthiest people to ever live in America, the Rockefellers and so on. I bring up all these things I've seen or read about the Federal Reserve, it's creation, and it's control. Those are all lies and not research because I read it on the internet.
I brought up how people I know have met the love of their lives on the internet. I also pointed out that with out the internet they never would have met. I thought Washington and California was too broad of a distance so I brought up my other brother and his current girlfriend. Wait, what's this, they say they could've met since she lived just down the street from each other. Are you fucking kidding me? I don't know people that live two houses down from me, much less will meet them anywhere and end up falling in love. You know what the fucking possibilty of my brother and his girlfriend meeting, let alone going on a date and falling for each other, would be with out the internet? Slim to fucking none.
Well anyways, I end up getting mad because I ask my brother's friend when he has researched the Federal Reserve, and he answers with, "I know the Federal Reserve is government owned." My brother backs him with, "Oh, this guy does his research." Come on now, the guy can't answer me, but he's done it? How can you blindly follow your friend when your brother is telling you what he has done? I thought we were better brothers than that.
I am passionate about what I believe, and I will fight for it tooth and nail, but when blind ignorance enters the equation I can't stay in that conversation because it no longer is talking to a human being it equals talking to a wall.
Are there downfalls to the internet? Yes, I have admitted that much. Stupid people will do stupid things with any creation because they are fucking stupid. Saying society is better off with out it is like saying we're better off with out fire. Hell, kids burn their houses down, people are killed by it. Fuck it, let's get rid of the sun while we're at it. Long live the darkness!!!
Of course, they could've just been upset because I said technology isn't moving too fast for society, they are moving too slow for technology. But fuck 'em, it's true. If they are going to be ignorant with me, I will ignorantly forget they ever existed.

This is an edit to my rant, so pass it also.

Edit: I just realized a great truth, a very visible one, that I didn't let myself see because I have many ignorant ideas about the world. My feelings for the world have been driven so low that I think intelligence is magical, a myth that few have uncovered. I believe in very little because I view belief to be as serious as love. It's not something you throw around. I also don't believe in things I haven't discovered myself or researched so much that I can't help but think it's true. My ignorance is that it's so obvious to me that this is what belief is that I don't realize people will use belief as facetiously as they do love. I didn't realize people would defend their "belief" they have lived with vehemently even though they are shown the truth. I thought the Federal Reserve was government owned until I finally went looking for the answer, but I didn't fight the knowledge because it wasn't a belief, it was a thought I had of the Federal Reserve's ownership.
What made me smile today? That I had the internet to vent.
