Update to my last blog:
I went back to urgent care yesterday at my friends' and mother's urging. I'm allergic to penicillin so the doctor gave me Bactrim to try to get rid of my sinus infection and whatever is going on in my chest to make me cough. My sinuses were feeling better and the cough is getting better just painfully slowly. On Thursday about halfway through the workday my lower eyelid on my right eye swelled up a little. I thought maybe I had scratched it or something and didn't think too much of it until yesterday morning when I woke up to get ready for work. I looked in the mirror and my lower right eyelid was still a little swollen and my upper left eyelid was so swollen I could only open it about 3/4 of the way. I splashed cold water on my face and got ready for work and slowly the swelling went down. I went to work and my coworkers noticed a little of the swelling and one said she's also allergic to penicillin and Bactrim. Crap. My friends got worried I was having an allergic reaction so I called the urgent care clinic at 9:30 yesterday morning. They said a nurse would call back. At 3:30 no one called back so I called my regular doctor who is in the same building. They refused to talk to me since their office didn't prescribe the meds and said it was up to me if I wanted to stop taking them and I should go back to urgent care since they treated me initially. After two more calls to urgent care I finally got a nurse last night who said it very well could be an allergic reaction and they wanted to see me. By then the swelling was almost gone so I called my mom for her expert mommy opinion. When I told her I haven't felt up to working out in 2 weeks she told me to get my ass to urgent care. I went in and the doctor said to immediately stop taking the antibiotics and I need to get an allergy test. If I am allergic to Bactrim there are very few antibiotics I'll be able to take next time I'm sick. Oh goody. The doctor is leaning toward an allergy but didn't want to say it without an actual allergy test. Fingers crossed my insurance will cover the allergy test.
In other news I really want a new tattoo. I haven't gotten one in over a year so I have the itch again. I want to get some kind of heart but I don't know what it should look like or where I should put. Suggestions are welcome!
