Well now I'm 28. I'm glad I'm not 30 yet. The last year didn't go how I expected but you win some you lose some. It's been a roller coaster leaving my ex of 10 years, starting to date a guy in another country, stress at work and trying to pay my mortgage on my own. All in all I think I'm in a better place than I was a year ago though. I have more control over my life and where I'm going now.
I'm basically making this a week long celebration. Last Friday I got birthday cupcakes, TaoAndCoffee came to town and is staying until the morning of October 10th. Saturday some good friends came over, we tried a new pizza place that was really good, drank chocolate martinis and super chocolate cake my baker friend made me. It's chocolate fudge cake batter with chocolate chips in the batter, and I swear she did double the amount of chocolate frosting also with chocolate chips mixed in. Holy shit yum! On Friday a nice big box was on my front porch from Phacet that had a rum cake in it. I've never had rum cake but it was soooooo good! That cake didn't get cut until yesterday when Inkblot98 and hubby were here. We ate half of it in a pretty short time. Inkblot98 shot a dual set of TaoAndCoffee and me, and a SB set just for TaoAndCoffee, and a new set of just me. She's going to sort the over 1,000 pics she took and send them to me and I'll post teasers then. We went for cute and dorky for the first two sets and mine is pretty dark. I can't wait to get the pics back! I think even Inkblot and hubs were impressed with TAC's sexy body during the shoots. My kitties really wanted to help and be in my shoot so TAC had to act as cat wrangler.
I took today off work since it's my birthday and I can do what I want. TAC and I are hanging around my house relaxing. When I go back to work tomorrow I'll have giant cookies as a gift from my company and another cake from my coworkers. I'm going to get sooooooo fat!
As a birthday present to myself I got a new phone! As some of you might remember in July I had to get a replacement phone for my Eris because it was acting really wrong and when I took it to Verizon to have them fix it they completely broke it and I had an expensive clock. I got a new *slightly* less buggy Eris but it's still been making my batty with the quirks. At the end of September my plan qualified for an upgrade so I bought a LG Revolution. It's got a screen the size of my entire Eris and 4G. So far I love it except my hands are so small it's a little hard to type on. I got an awesome deal on it because I had a credit on my account for being with Verizon for the last 100 years and Phacet sent me a gift card. We managed to talk the Verizon people into giving me a discount on a charging dock with extra battery that's pretty awesome and was a gift from TAC because he talked me up into this phone that was more than the phone I was planning to get. Once again I have a nicer phone than my BF so he's having a bit of gadget envy again. He got a Droid Incredible a few months ago and that phone is pretty awesome too.
So far so good for my birthday.
I Have awesome friends and a great BF who loves me enough to drive all the way here and stay for a little over a week through crazy weather knowing I was pissed because he was making himself late again. It's been so nice to have him here to hug and snuggle and my cats are enjoying all the extra attention too.
