My weekend: recapped.
I somehow managed to get my ass ready to leave on Friday 45 minutes earlier than I thought I would. I got on the road at about 11:15, had a nice boring drive, hit the Canadian borer around 2:45, waited in line basically to be waived through. I had started getting really nervous around 2:30 when I stopped for gas because TaoAndCoffee wasn't responding to my texts and he was supposed to be off work at 1:30. He ended up leaving work an hour late and I left an hour early. No nap for him! The rest of the drive was uneventful except the bit of road rage I had when I was 2 miles from his house and traffic was CRAWLING along and I was soooooo close. And I has to pee. I hadn't stopped since Port Huron, MI.
When I got there TAC came outside and gave me a big hug, as per usual, and I surprised him with Sweetwater's donuts. It's become a tradition that whenever we see each other we get donuts and one of us brings his dad an apple fritter that weighs around a pound and is roughly the size of my steering wheel. Needless to say it was a welcome surprise for both of them since I said I wasn't bringing any. If you don't live in Michigan and have never had Sweetwater's you're really missing out. Best.Donuts.EVER.
Friday night we hung out with his dad and watched sports and ate pizza. I smooshed him into the corner of the couch because I couldn't get close enough to him.
On Saturday we had a really lazy morning and dozed in bed for a bit before finally getting up for our morning tea and coffee stew ritual. We drove up the Escarpment again to see The Devil's Punch Bowl. Lucky for me he decided not to throw me off, in spite of the nickname he's given me, Brat. After that we headed over to meet the rest of the family for the first time. AHH! So nervous! Luckily he has a very cool easy going mom and step dad. We hung around his aunt's apartment chit chatting for a few hours and watched his 4 year old cousin try to beat the shit out of his daddy. After that we met RadioFrank for dinner. It was nice to see him again but I think I went a bit overboard with my injury stories. I've been hurt A LOT.
On Sunday we stayed in bed until practically lunch time, had the tea and coffee stew ritual and went running on Lake Ontario. The weather was beautiful. It was cool and cloudy and breezy. My normal running pace is just under a 10 minute mile. His, well, it's a lot faster than that. My heart rate was way up and his was practically resting yet his face was all flushed like he was really working hard. We ran 5 miles which is awesome for me, a little short for him. He survived my slow pace and short distance though. After the run we got lunch and did a little window shopping near the Starbucks he works at and decided since we were there we would stop in for drinks. I naturally had to use the bathroom while we waited for our drinks. When I came out TAC had our drinks in his hands and a funny look on his face. He said he thought someone was at the end of the line. I thought his district manager was there. I looked over and OMG it was his ex wife who has the same name as his district manager. I've caused some drama between them because they were trying to be friends, and long story short, if you've read my blogs you know I wasn't ok with the situation so they stopped talking. I didn't exactly want to have an awkward meet and greet in his place of work so we left through the bookstore Starbucks is attached to. And practically ran into his ex's new hubby! At least he didn't see us either so we ducked out. I'm glad my boyfriend has learned. If I'd come out of that bathroom to see him chatting her up he and I would be done for good. I had a dream that night that he had been hanging out with her again and hiding it from me and no matter what I said I couldn't get anything through to him and I got so frustrated I slapped him across the face, dumped him for good, and left. Not a good dream and then kind of weird to wake up next to him. I told him the dream and he hugged me and said he won't be that stupid again in real life.
After Starbucks we went to the delicious cupcake bakery in the parking lot and picked up cupcakes for dinner with his mom, step dad and aunt. We had a great time with them and they kept giving me shots of something that tasted like apple pie. I think his family likes me. His aunt makes greeting cards and she and I had lots of fun looking at her work. She showed us some favor boxes she made for a friends wedding. She had one that looked like a wedding dress and a corresponding box that looked like a tuxedo jacket with the shirt and bow tie. She also showed us the wedding album she made for the couple and it was AWESOME! During the night we caught mom and step dad making out for a few minutes which was cute and gross at the same time. When we left TAC kind of got wedding fever. He loves the favor boxes so much he said if we ever get married maybe we shouldn't elope so we can have a reception with those boxes. He said his mom and step dad gave him hope of a long good loving relationship since they've been married for about 20 years now. We saw them all again on Monday and his mom invited me to join the family in New Jersey for Thanksgiving. I would love to go but money is an issue. We're trying to figure out affordable ways to get me there. I would love to spend more time with my BF and his family.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to shoot a Suicide Boys set while I was there, That may have been because we were too busy with sex, eating, and family. I ended up with a slightly bruised rib and rug burn in a few places on my back. It was a good weekend.
I got home yesterday and again had a really (thankfully) uneventful drive. I cried when I left and again when I got home. I really hate the distance. He's working on it though. In just over three weeks TaoAndCoffee will be here for my birthday and he's staying for about a week and a half. I can't wait. At least I have something to look forward to. I don't even care if he brings me presents.
