So I just remembered something funny from the drive in to Chicago. I had to go to the bathroom really bad and couldn't think of much else. It was about 80 degrees in traffic moving about 2mph in a car with no AC and no breeze outside. I happened to look over at a semi truck next to us and the driver was holding a piece of paper in the window that said "WOW!" Then the driver waived at me. It was kind of funny. Not sure what was wow though. At first I thought something was wrong with the car since it's a 20 year old Michigan car that shit keeps breaking on.
Work sucked today. I've been dealing with these people that were having a house built and things went south with the builder that resulted in all work on the house stopping. Neither the borrowers or the builder are totally at fault or totally innocent in this break down. It has gotten to the point now where everyone has lawyered up. For the past two months the borrowers have been bad mouthing me to the sub contractors thinking it won't get back to me. Well guess what, I'm the one holding the money. If they piss me off I don't have to pay anyone. And they are also telling the subs that they are going to see me fired over this. Yeah, right. I have done everything based on the contract they signed.
Now they are bordering on harassing. They called my work phone and hung up repeatedly when I didn't answer before finally leaving a vague message. They did not answer when I finally called them back and never returned my call. A little while later this afternoon I got a call from one of our office managers who had somehow gotten the wife on the phone. She had been blowing up his phone too when he wasn't able to answer. She is now telling my coworkers that I don't know what I'm doing. Which was funny because when my boss heard she said that my boss said that I know more than she (boss) does about construction loans.
I called our corporate lawyer and he said he would speak to the borrowers' lawyer to direct all correspondence through them. Which is exactly what the borrowers admitted to my co-worker they are trying to avoid because their attorney costs $200 an hour. Our attorney is considering a restraining order against them at this point, partly because the wife was calling around our company asking if the employees are indemnified if they make mistakes. It sounds to us like they think I screwed up and are going to try to sue me or my company.
The husband said he did not give me permission to release the most recent draw request to the builder Yeah, bullshit. If he didn't tell me to pay them then why did he bring in over $8000 two days later so I could pay more people? Dumbass.
I hate people sometimes. At least my boss and our lawyer are on my side with this one.

I'm so not down with peeing in the middle of the freeway.
