My first day off after 15 consecutive days at work, many of which consisting of 12+ hour shifts without a break, began with Dok Moc strolling across the parking lot: "I parked in the professional parking lot!"
"That's right. Well, you know, you are..." gesticulation ensues.
"A young urban professional!"
"Yes, you are a young urban professional."
We both got nachos from Sheetz. They were terrible. Note to self: find a better Sheetz in this state.
Between Baltiless and Killadelphia, traveling at an average speed of 95 miles per hour, Doc Mok and I discussed our excellence despite the failures of co-workers, flaws of Quark XPress and the people who use it, the relevance of Zen Buddhisim and the Laws of Robotics to traffic dynamics and the role of a person as a driver, driving, the feud between Bear is Driving (TX) and Bear is Driving (PA), and kitschy food suppliers. It was the best conversation I've had in months. Several times, I thought that we would hit something.
Witnessed Bear is Driving (PA) practice. Helped Bear is Driving (PA) transport their gear to the venue. Ate dinner with half of Bear is Driving (PA), one-fourth of Bear is Driving (PA)'s former roommate, and Doc Mok's mistress.
I've been asked to practice my fretwork to be the guitarist in a grind band. I've barely played guitar in the past five years. We'll see how this plays out. It could be teh rock.
Got back around 4am. Went to work at 3pm. Today was the second worst day at work since I moved here. The first was this Monday. There are general plans to rock out again on Monday. Will retrieve my guitars 'n shite hopefully by the end of the month.
