So, I'm woken up around 7AM this morning by the wife, looking at me totally freaked out, her left hand holding her right hand, which is pissing down with blood... Turns up she's just slashed herself with a chipped blender she was cleaning.
Of course we have no clue what to do/who to call/where to go to. Good thing she thinks about her sister (who knows Chicago quite well) and she directs us to the Northwestern Children Hospital, a place where she used to work, which is only a few blocks away. We go there and they are very helping and friendly. We actually didn't know that there is an "all-ages" Northwestern Hospital just nearby but in the end we didn't have to go there. They stitched N, who had cut herself up to the muscle. Quite gory but strangely fascinating once you're past the "am I going to puke?" factor.
Anyhoo, we're just back home now and we'll have to get the stitches removed in 10 days. Good times.
In other news, I received a replacement PS3 yesterday and tried to reconnect wirelessly and that just wouldn't work. Of course, when I initially bought my PS3, I had no problem whatsoever to get it to work wirelessly. So I'm going to try again today and if it doesn't work, I'll buy an ethernet cable, as I tried with the one from my PC and it did work. Fucking technology bullshit, it's supposed to make your life easier/fun and it's just a constant drag instead... If it hadn't cost me $400, I would have gladly tossed that fucking PS3 out of the window yesterday. As you've probably guessed, on top of the headache with the wireless, I have to re-install everything (games/saves/re-do downloads, etc.), because when you send your machine for repairs, they just send you another one. So geigh.
Hope your weekend started on a better note

no - i have no idea what the Synovate panel is. that picture was taken at your apartment back in september. it was on my phone and i didn't remember taking it, so i wasn't sure if it was from the liquor store across the street or from your place. now we know. the weird cult-like packaging of the paper towels cracks me up.
so yeah - small world, but not that small!
