The last few days have been quite eventful (for a change!)
Last week was week 1 at my new job. What a difference... I'd say that the stress level is probably 10% of the one I had to suffer at my previous job... I know that it's very early stages, as I just started and that it will become busier, but still... Looking at the other people on the PNG account, they don't exactly break a sweat, if you know what I mean - which is simply awesome
Ironically enough, from day 1 I was working on stuff that I have an interest in (which probably hasn't happened in years) and there is a lot to be learned, which is really cool because I couldn't tolerate that constant feeling of stagnation anymore. So far, so very good on the job front then
Apart from work, N & I have been enjoying last weekend's sunshine and warmth a lot. After all, it's not like we've been waiting for decent normal highs for what seems like a lifetime this year
Saturday we were at the Belmont and Sheffield street festival, which was quite interesting. After some shopping and drinking we headed to the Mayfest in Lincoln Square where we were supposed to meet friends. By the time we arrived (8-ish PM), it was so crowded that the thought of having to queue for tickets and then for beer & food for what would have been an eternity made us head to a Greek restaurant where we binged on moussakas and other great stuff.
Sunday we had some more shopping to do and were mostly downtown. We ended at the Rock Bottom's terrace, drinking all sorts of beer and smoking at the same time - yes, you can smoke at the corner tables, which was thoroughly enjoyed
It was still very warm late in the afternoon when we quite drunkenly decided to go to that steakhouse we can see from the terrace (can't remember the name) and eat outside. That would have been a great idea if we hadn't eaten/drunk so much already. Food was very good but we both couldn't really sleep much last night due to indigestion - we're not used to binge like that especially 2 days in a row and we don't have much belly capacity either, as we don't eat much in general
But all in all, an awesome weekend. What a difference does it make to have decent weather and fewer work-related worries!
PS: at some point I WILL buy credit for the cell phone, so that we can call people when we're out and about. That would have been nice to spend time with some of our SGC peeps that we don't even come close to seeing nearly enough.
That is all for now - light reading it was this time.
Be good

yeah, the meditation does take discipline. sometimes it seems like work, but when you get into it it actually seems like the opposite of work, like a respite from the world and craziness of normal life.
