I have decided to stop taking everything so hard and learn to be positive again.
It is sad for me to admit that, once again, I kinda forgot how to appreciate my life, because of all these constant problems being thrown in my face.
For a start, I have quit smoking for good. To be honest, I had quit a long time ago in my head, always wondering why I kept lighting up cigarette after cigarette while drinking, just out of frustration and fake enjoyment... and it is hard, but I have managed to hold on to that despite my friend being there and a lot of temptation due to bars, restaurants, etc... so it's all good. Plus, not smoking also makes me drink much less...
More of a regular at the gym too, I'm even enjoying the pain sometimes... At least I can make this pain work for me, not against me. Turn all the bad energy into a good one, free my mind from all the anger and the frustration.
This is the secret to end misery: learn to change your mind, train it to find happiness in the simplest things instead of being miserable wanting and wishing and wishing and wanting some more. I look outside and there is a beautiful cloudy sky right now. This is a sight that no bank or no other inner demon can steal from me.
Leave your PC now. Go to your window. Breathe deeply and serenely and look at the world outside. Re-discover it in any house you see, in any car, in any tree, in any cloud. Don't think. Just focus on the outside sights you see. Learn to live in the here & now.
Nothing is really important apart from this very moment, your breath and the knowledge that the Happiness you so badly miss is only to be found within yourself. Yes, it is here, you will find it under all those layers of self-imposed misery, sadness, fear, incomprehension, greed and negativity... it is here, simple, warm, stronger than time and waiting to embrace you in its light.
