So, after joining this site and starting a journal a few months ago, it seems I made it as far as two days before stopping, so today feels like a good day to start again.
I started to get back into my life today, something that's been missing for such a long time...
For a long time before I met my ex wife, I was a practising Buddhist, and meditated daily. I was, on the whole, a very happy, peaceful and contented person, and took a great deal of positive things from my religion.
Sadly though, as the relationship with my wife carried on. and soon after becoming a father, the more I became a family man, the less I became a spiritual one. That's something for which I've paid a heavy price over the years both internally and externally.
Today though, I took a long needed step to get the three jewels (the buddah, dharma, and sangha) back into my life. I went to a a Buddhist meditation centre about 20 mins from where I live to a drop in lunchtime meditation class, and as soon as I entered their shrine room, I just knew I was getting right back to where I needed to be. I'm going back on Sunday for a day long course they're running on the wheel of life which I'm really looking forward to, and in the meantime, I mean to renew my daily meditation starting this evening, and long overdue it is too!!
