VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

On Thursday 9th December 2010 I took part in the London protest in Parliament Square against the raising of tuition fees from around 3000 to around 9000. It was the craziest event I have ever been to and I want to document it as accurately as possible while it is still fresh in my mind as it will probably go down in...

well, it's almost the end of September and i'm glad to say i'm back in London smile

Food for thought from strangers....

Please substitute She for he when need be...Santayana was apparently a misogynist in tone.

"He who lives in the ideal and leaves it expressed in society or in art enjoys a double immortality. The eternal has absorbed him while he lived, and when he is dead his influence brings others to the same absorption, making them, through that ideal identity with the best in him, reincarnations and perennial seats of all in him which he could rationally hope to rescue from destruction. He can say, without any subterfuge or desire to delude himself, that he shall not wholly die; for he will have a better notion than the vulgar of what constitutes his being. By becoming the spectator and confessor of his own death and of universal mutation, he will have identified himself with what is spiritual in all spirits and masterful in all apprehension; and so conceiving himself, he may truly feel and know that he is eternal."
Santayana

I don't know if you will dig the words of this american bird but I hope you do now...

In That Other Fantasy Where We Live Forever
-Wanda Coleman

"we were never caught

we partied the southwest, smoked it from L.A. to El Dorado
worked odd jobs between delusions of escape
drunk on the admonitions of parents, parsons & professors
driving faster than the road or law allowed.
our high-pitched laughter was young, heartless & disrespected
authority. we could be heard for miles in the night

the Grand Canyon of a new manhood.
womanhood discovered
like the first sighting of Mount Wilson

we rebelled against the southwestern wind

we got so naturally ripped, we sprouted wings,
crashed parties on the moon, and howled at the earth

we lived off love. It was all we had to eat

when you split you took all the wisdom
and left me the worry"

... Happy trails

Well... I encountered something interesting, that's you. Your taste in music is second to none, so I'm kinda excited that someone else might want to headbang to ACDC with me. Its a lonely thing to do alone! Also I ripped my sg name from the Stones. So clearly, there's a tangible link there! What do you study in Landan taaaawn?! smile

Jealous, I have never seen them live. Too cool to get up on stage with them.
The set is fabulous and deserves all the positive comments it gets.
Good luck on the presentation.
