today was the "get off yer ass" day...starting with a long run at 6:00 a.m., then the rest of the day at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Brooklyn Museum.

Tomorrow is the Fourth -- which holds no special place in my heart since I'm not patriotic nor do I really care about fireworks. The whole fascination with things that make purdy lights and go boom is beyond me, but it seems to work for others. Always been like that -- when I was younger I'd fall asleep during the show.
On the bonus end...I do have a date with this girl I've been talking with / hanging out, so that'll be nice
I'm thinking I might make her some cookies...although I haven't figured out what kind just yet. Maybe a lemon sugar cookie...
