this is pretty cool an easy trick to do with flash and javascript, but still fun to watch.
Ah...a bit of Stan Getz to get through the night.
I have two words for everyone: Robot Chicken! Have you seen this show? It's manned by Seth Green and a handful of talented animators doing some fucked up stop-motion animation. What gets me all geeked out is the tons of references to nerdy stuff -- old anime, toys, pop culture, etc. let alone the subversive tone of pretty much each segment.
Watch it on Cartoon Network or do like I did and just download the episodes. Each clocks in around 15minutes for a "complete" show.

A 30-second clip
More and more I wonder what my calling in life really is. The web stuff is boring and frankly doesn't do much for me anymore. Never did, in fact since my background is fine art luddite. I get more pleasure out of a sketch I do during a meeting than anything I've done in many years. Same goes for cooking. Naturally the combination of the two would go hand-in-hand, but it's foolish to contemplate something like that in NYC. Skyrocketing rent, insurance and all of the hassles...not worth opening up a business unless you have a ton of backers. Which also means you'll need to make moola just to pay said backers.
One restaurant idea I had was a place called Doms & Subs, which would naturally be a sandwich shop staffed by dominatrix / doms. Black leather / vinyl furniture and sandwiches like "flayed ham on whippernickle with mustard"..."beg for it, bisque", etc.
The other was a pastry / dessert shop where you could, literally walk in and get dessert. Sure there are shops that are all pastry, chocolate, rice pudding (mmm...Rice to Riches...so good...) but there's not an all dessert shop. Where do you go for a fresh baked slice of cherry pie and rich, homemade vanilla bean ice cream? Outside of my apartment that is . Or real banana pudding with baked 'nilla wafers. cookies, tarts, etc. Think about how many times you wanted to have dessert after eating a meal at your place but there wasn't much of a choice out there...that void would be filled with my joint
I envisioned a multi-tiered shop -- large ceilings that has a second floor where people can eat and overlook other customers or out picture windows. The cases would run along the inside walls, divided by type. And unlike many places you could get as little or as much as you'd like. Naturally I'd also sell to restaurants too! That happened a few times back home before I moved out here.
