So, last night was one of those nights where I had crazy ass dreams, followed by my right calf cramping up...then an hour later my left calf cramped up! Guess I did too much at the gym or someone put some arsenic in my Boddingtons! Maybe the peanuts I ate at the bar masked the tell-tale sign of "almond". Remember kiddies, if you keep on tasting / smelling almonds in everything, you're getting poisoned!
Next week we'll cover how to poison someone. So stay tuned!
News of the weird: on my left foot, the middle toe's toenail finally fell off! That's right friends, I have a flesh nub, sans nail in the middle. If anyone wants photos then I'll get it up here -- just in time for Memorial Day Weekend!
News of the aural: Believe it or not, The MC5....wait...THE MC5 are playing centerstage this year! Holy shee-it! Okay, so if last year's super garage fest wasn't amazing enough...and seeing The Stooges play a reunion show didn't cap it off, this year I get to see Wayne Kramer (and surviving members) show these shitty "neo" garage and "rock" bands what it's like. See, these guys blew it out in the mid 60's and were pissed off muthas. Which is awesome when you consider that most of the country were hippies
Words cannot express how happy I was to see that! So, make sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, July 30th at 3:00 p.m. Now dig this, along with the MC% will be Sun Ra Arkestra, directed by Marshall Allen plus DJ Spooky! Jesus!!!
Other shows to note for the centerstage concert series:
+ Patti Smith Thursday, August 4 @ 7:30 p.m.
+ Coheed & Cambria Saturday, August 6 @ 3:00 p.m.
+ M.I.A. Sunday, August 7 @ 3:00 p.m.
Prepare to meet your maker on July 2nd at the Starland Ballroom (Sayreville, NJ) when Lamb of God, Clutch, Opeth, Poison the Well, From Autumn to Ashes, Chimaira, GWAR, Strapping Young Lad and High On Fire show up to bring on some heavy pain! Tix are a cheap $29.50 pre, $32 day of.
Food news: Williamsburg finally has a new Chinese restaurant! Ho Wong City Shanghai Fusion opened on 212 Bedford Ave between North 5th and 6th street...roughly one block away from the Bedford "L" stop! Tomorrow's plan: Shumai!
