Man, it's been a little bit since I updated!
Let's see...still loving the job! Made up (sort of) with the girl who I was starting to see...then not. Looks like we might hang out this weekend, which would be cool!
Thursday I was walking around and got "the look" from three girls, one of which was a way hot punky chick with killer eyes. Ay!
Saturday was amazing outside, which is where I spent most of the day walking around and soaking up the sun. Now if it would only get warm...
Sunday was a run day, so I rolled out and hit the streets around 6:30 a.m. This time around I wanted to see what it would be like running with my MP3 playa -- which turned out to be both good and bad. The good part was that it made the time go by faster and the run more enjoyable. The bad part was that I turned on old Metallica and it got me running faster than I wanted to I cleared the 7+ mile run in a bit less than an hour.
Speaking of, I really, really hate most of the new Metallica albums. Guys turned into pussies! Damn, so sad.
Anyway, Sunday night was one of the best concert experiences in my life = Public Enemy and Ice-T! Holy shit, that show freakin' blew me away.
Starts off where I'm standing in front of the stage and this dude comes walking around handing out CDs...people were casually grabbing the cds then everyone realizes the dude handing the stuff out was Ice-T! Then the show got started...
Iceburg was doin' some old OG shit...then it turned into this nightmare when he brought out this group of kids. Turns out that he has some show on VH1 where he took a group of middle school kids and "ghetto-ized" them, turning them into wanna-be's. Most of 'em sucked big time, one kid was pretty solid, though. That part went on wwwwaaaaaaayyyyyyy too long and the crowd was getting pissy. This dude I was standing next to tried grabbing the mic from one of the last kids, which nearly turned into an altercation between him and T...but then it ended flat and that part of the show was over.
PE came out...one word to describe the show was mythic. The power that Chuck D commanded was amazing -- the audience was under his power. Hell, hearing him break it down was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, especially with PE doing all of my favorites. I'm still hoarse from yellin' along with everyone else!
So here's some photos --
DJ Lloyd -- this dude was SICK
Turns out that night the place was packed with old-school artists. Chuck brought 'em on stage for this super-group photo, but the one person who didn't come up was Roxanne Shantee, which would have been amazing! Still...
Yesterday some co-workers invited me out for a drink and to gawk at David Blaine. We gawked, then went out for some food...and drinks...and more drinks... and more drinks...2 margaritas, 3 beers, 3 shots of tequilia and other stuff later I had to call it a night
