wow, it has been a long ass time since I updated this thing, but much has happened.
Backtracking...last Tuesday I went to go see the super-duper Dutch band The Gathering at the Knitting Factory!
Opening up for 'em was Unexpect
Who had a pretty crazy sound -- kinda neo-gothic mike patton-ish mish-mash. Goth Noise? Either way they grew on me and dig that crazy guitar the dredded dude has!
Following that was Giant Squid who was pretty solid, but seemed to need a bit more time to figure out their sound. Not bad, though.
By the time they left the stage the freakin' floor was jam packed with people. I was mashed up against a ton of folks and one asshole who decided to plop his giant backpack behind me
fucker was totally drunk (which I don't get -- why pay for a show then pass out?) and started to get some sloggin' in. And so did I -- looks like the time I've put into the gym helped me get a few good swings in...

The whole band was really good looking -- everyone was all googly-eyed! They covered most of their hits and also some new stuff that was solid. New album should be out in about 3 weeks, if anyone's interested.
It's been a long time since I was at a show where I got shivers when the first chords were struck and this one was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Woo!
Wednesday I got a second call from Pokemon about setting up an interview, which happened on Super Thursday! The second round went well and I kinda iced it with a few bonus points by dropping some street and complimenting the Creative Director on his Bape hoodie. Aw yeah...
After work I had a date with a gal I met and have been talking with for a bit. First time meetings are always a bit of a nervous thing but i figured I'd make the best of it. We met at Pravda for some martini's and I have to say...g'damn! This girl was amazing -- great personality and fucking HOT. Sweet jesus.
So the night went really well -- got some hummus at Hummus Place, then over to the Showroom for Ron English' opening. While there, Spurlock, the guy who filmed and starred in "Super-Size Me" was there! very cool and he's quite tall.
Split the scene and then got some pastries and had a nice end to the night. In the form of one short, but freakin' hot little kiss. Yeah, I needed some oxygen after that!
Friday morning I hopped on a plane and flew back to Indiana for an interview at this internet place. Turns out that they're the guys who do all of the "Win an iPOD!!!" banners. Internet huckster I ain't so I probably won't consider that gig if they offer. Funny thing was the place was nerd heaven, but all of the interns were SMOKING HOT! ha ha ha -- gotta love dorks.
So that's the wraps! Hope everyone's been treating themselves to something good -- ya'll deserve it!
