WATCHING
Martha Beck (Shirley Stoler) is sullen, overweight and heartbreakingly alone. Desperate for affection, she joins Aunt Carries Friendship Club and strikes up a correspondence with Ray Fernandez (Tony Lo Bianco), a suave, charismatic smooth talker who could be the man of her dreamsor a wicked con artist bound for trouble. Based on a true story and filmed in documentary-style black and white, The Honeymoon Killers is a stark portrayal of the desperate lengths a lonely heart will go to find true love, from brutally immoral killings to a passion that transcends all bounds.

"Joe Boyd's first proper job at 21 was bringing Muddy Waters to Britain in 1964. When Dylan went electric at Newport the following year, Boyd was the stage manager. His first session as a record producer was Eric Clapton's original "Crossroads". A year later, he had produced Pink Floyd's first single and installed them in his UFO Club, the heart of psychedelic London in 1967. With the help of The Incredible String Band, Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention, he arranged the brief but intense marriage between pop music and British folk. He discovered, produced and managed Nick Drake. He loved the Swedish songwriters he heard on a trip to Stockholm in 1970 - two years before they created ABBA - but not enough to turn down a job in California where he produced soundtracks for "Deliverance" and "A Clockwork Orange" and the definitive documentary on Jimi Hendrix"

The poor guy has an extremely aggressive form of cancer. It is absolutely astounding how drastically his appearance and manner have changed within the span of a week. He is as limp and lethargic as a little rag doll. Hardly eats anything at all, regains his appetite, and then crashes again. Such an emotional roller coaster. It is breaking my heart watching him waste away. Taking him to vet tomorrow morning to send him on his way...if I can keep my nerve. So conflicted. And in shock.
I can't stop crying...
(Yesterday I accidently posted the above in your April 2nd blog.) Ended up putting my baby to sleep this morning. I am completely devastated -- in shock. The intensity of the pain is UNREAL. Cannot imagine life without him.
Just wanted to say hi!
