great shirt:
[edited to say]
For the first time in 32 years, I'm falling into a normal work routine, and it's pretty nice. I've never had a 9-5 type work situation and for the my entire working life I've never really known what weekends were. They were just always other days that I worked and something I might have to myself once every few months or so. Now here I am doing the 9-5 and one Saturday a month, it's very good. My sleeping habits are completely different now as well. I'm usually ready for bed around 10 each night now and it's seems normal. Before 2 am was pretty normal for calling it a day. I haven't even been able to stay up late enough to see if the Jimmy Fallon show is any good. My guess is no, but I'd really enjoying seeing The Roots every night.
One downside to this new lifestyle is that it's really cramped my style when it comes to SG. I've certainly been neglecting the site since starting the new job. But I'm determined not to disappear all together. I've invested too much time in this site since i first joined. Too long to call it quits any time soon, no matter how fucking terrible i think the new layout is. HEY STAFF. QUIT TINKERING WITH SHIT!!!! WHY DOES THE HOMEPAGE LOOK LIKE SOMETHING DESIGNED TO TEACH IMMIGRANTS ENGLISH!!!
Good god it's just awful. But again, not bad enough to chase me away. Besides, I need a Carmelita fix at least once a week. As long as that lady is around I'm not going anywhere.
So there's two bands that I just recently got around to given a listen to. Seems like everyone has been sporting a boner for both TV on the Radio and MGMT for some time now and I finally decided to check them out. TV on the Radio is nothing short of amazing. Now I've only heard Dear Science so far, but based on that alone consider me a huge fan. I haven't been that blown away by an album in a long, long time. Very refreshing to hear something that original and distinct these days. Really, music has gotten kinda shitty anymore. Very manufactured to our short attention spans and insta delivery lifestyles. Think about it, a HUGE part of the song writing being done out there is based heavily on how good of a ring tone it will make. It's come to that, trying to compose a great snippet of one song. Flo'Rida had the number one song in the country over summer for weeks and weeks and weeks and didn't even have an album out. Point made.
Bit of a tangent there, sorry about that. I've got this whole theory how Napster created the downfall of entertainment media. I think that Napster was awesome and opened a ton of doors technologically, but it's left a path of destruction behind it creativity. But that's a different rant for a different day. To sum this up, listen to TV on the Radio. It's incredible. As far as MGMT goes, it's a good time. There's a few moments that are pretty damn sweet, but for the most part I thought it kind of came off as a less inspired Flaming Lips. Last thing on music, I have no shame at all in admitting that I am looking very forward to the new Green Day album. Can't get here soon enough.
Fatality has a new set in MR. Perfect as usual. She's always stunning.
46 & 2 is probably my all time favorite Tool song.
Here's something really fucking stupid. This backwards ass Cleveland that I live in is not nearly excited as it should be about the mother-fucking Cavaliers. What they are doing is incredible and people need to be paying more attention. If the Browns or Indians were pulling off the equivalent of what they are doing this town would explode. Don't get me wrong, there is a definite buzz about them, but it needs to be so much bigger. Well at least I'm enjoying the hell out of it. 10 games to go this season and I think they might, might, lose 1 more game. They'll have to keep going full speed if they want to to finish with home court over the Lakers. It's fucking sweet.
If anyone of one guys would like to be buddies of mine on Facebook please do. If I can't tell who you are from the name, just send a little note that you're from SG. Here's my email to look me up there:
good times.
have a great evening. I'm going to try to get laid.
