whenever i disappear from this site for an extended amount of time i usually like to return with some reason as to why i've been spending no time on here. typically there's some story about how the computer crapped out again, or how i've just been to busy and all that jazz. i have a new reason this time around. i have been spending a ridiculous amount of time playing guitar hero. like most things, i was late discovering guitar hero. i'd always heard people sing its praises and thought it looked cool. i just never got around to trying it out. long story short, the girlfriend really wanted it for christmas so i got her guitar hero 3 early in december. one night while she was at work i opened it up, you know to make sure it worked, and rocked out a little. A-DIC-TIVE. since then i've spent pretty much any free time with that silly little plastic guitar. we now have GH 2, 3, and the kinda shitty 80's edition. we've also started a band on rockband with her sister and brother in law. they've got the sweet 360 one with the drums and all that shit. very fantastic game as well. my fingers are always sore and the tip of my middle finger is just numb. i was able to get a really good deal on the ps2 guitar hero 3 with 2 guitars. we've got it hooked up to the surround sound and pretty much every evening is spent in rock mode. so that's the story as to why i haven't been around here in a little while. i've been far to busy being a rock god.

so some time over the last month i guess vanessa called it quits on this site. that's two really big thumbs down. i have no idea as to the how's and why's of the situation. but i do know that it sucks. i think she was one of the best SGs ever. she was way funny, had great journals, was really friendly, as well as the most physically beautiful woman on the whole damn site. really, i think she is hands down one of the most beautiful women i've ever seen. i'm a big fan. i will miss her journals and videos and the hopes of any new sets. i wish her nothing but the best.

thanksgiving and christmas came and went this year. really nothing to huge with either of them. besides the guitar hero enlightenment. spent thanksgiving here and celebrated with the girlfriends family. the meal was fantastic. christmas took us both to my parents and to see my sister for the first time since getting pregnant. it was a good time, but way to quick. i did get to see my friend margaret from san fransico. i haven't seen her for about 3 years, so that was nice. new years eve and day were pretty uneventful. i had to work until 10 on new years eve, and all day on new years day. it did make for a nice paycheck.

i just turned 31, which was really no big deal at all. it was nice time. had the biggest lasagna i've ever seen for dinner and then went and saw Juno. that movie kind of bugged me. i really enjoyed the story and the humor, but the Juno character really bugged the shit out of me. my friend mike got a great present for me and megan. tickets to a Cavs, which is cool enough. but these are like super deluxe tickets. we'll be in the Mercedes VIP Club fro the game, being waited on hand and foot while watching the game. it's like the high roller suite at the arena. mike and his girlfriend are gong with us and it will be awesome. i guess the only bad thing is that they are paying the Wizards. i would have liked to have seen a better team. beggars can't be choosers, you know.
