i was asked by a number of people just "where the fuck have you been?" over the past week. this made me feel nice, to be missed by all you wonderful people that i have never met. those of you who asked/wondered, you know who you are. you are indeed wonderful. let's do something about the whole never met thing why don't we?
and a super extra special person across the country is currently waiting on her couch for me to show up and make out with her for hours and hours.
can someone please fly me to denver.

this is going to be a huge update. please stick with me.
where to begin? how about
FUCK YES!!!! what a fantastic welcome back after my week away from SG. warm welcome indeed.
and a little bit of this never hurt either.
for the record, nothing turns me on more than girls touching themselves. pictures of said act are second only to watching the actual action. i'm a fucking perv.
so what have I been up to?
-lots of friends that i haven't seen in forever.
-lots of drinking, mostly potent german beer.
-tons of smoking.
-not much sleeping.
-meeting new fantastic people.
-causing all kinds of havoc with a 160 pound great dane.
-a few bad ass concerts.
-bought a new chair.
-breakfast at the bagel shop every morning.
-4 trips to the airport.
and a whole bunch more. here's the story. My friend Tiff from back home came up last wednesday night. he brought with him his great dane, Lucius, who i've mentioned before. the next morning i picked up Roger and Carl at the airport. Roger's girlfriend Lorie was with them, as well as Carl's fiance Allison. R & C are two brothers that i went to college with and worked at a video store with. Lorie is probably the coolest girl i've ever met in my life. she was around during college as well and i always loved hanging out with her. it was great seeing her again. this was the first time i met Allison, she was pretty sweet. all these guys live in arizona now and i haven't seen any of them for about 5 years. they rule.
saturday morning Allsions brother Tim showed up from roanoke, virginia. at 2 we had to pick up some guy named Brant from nashville at the airport.
my smoking buddy #1 megan was hanging out all weekend, as well as my friend Julie from work. Graley didn't make his presence known at all over the weekend. don't' know what happened to him.
so starting wednesday night, the party began and over the next few days it just grew and grew. and as the party grew, so did the drinking and the drugging. the eighth turned into a quarter, that turned into a half, that turned into and ounce. that doubled before i knew it. things got out of hand sometime around 5 o'clock friday. it was fear and loathing around here for awhile. awesome.
the reason for all this was a Pearl Jam/My Morning Jacket concert on saturday night. i've never been that big of a Pearl Jam fan. i've always liked them and i respect the hell out of them, just never got around to checking them out live. i was much more excited for the My Morning Jacket show. all these crazy fuckers from all over the country are HUGE Pearl Jam fans. follow them around like filthy hippies on every tour.
the concert definitely changed my feeling about PJ. what a fucking fantastic show they put on. and that Eddie Vedder, what a stage presence that guy has. pretty bad ass. i checked the set list, they played 31 songs. 2 encores. the second one had 8 songs. fucking phenomenal. they really put on a fantastic show. and i thought this was a cool move, before My Morning Jacket, Eddie came out and did a song by himself and then introduced MMJ. fucking smooth. he even did the first song with them. and it was a song by The Band, so i was instantly blown away. i thought that was an incredible move on his part. i've never seen a headliner come out and do something like that.
the second song Pearl Jam played was Given to Fly. probably my favorite song by them. and the fact that they played it right away made me realize that this was a very special time for me to be enjoying. that song is so fucking good. i've always said it sounds very victorious and triumphant.
bad ass. very powerful. very symbolic of how i felt all week.
Eddie Vedder says fuckers a lot. this is fine with me. he did this awesome thing where he reflected the spotlight off his guitar and made his own little spotlight that shot into the fans. he shined it all over the place, lighting up the furthest spots from the stage. i can see why the Pearl Jam fans are so fanatic and rabid about this band. they got a good thing going.
the time spent with these people was a much needed break from the stupidity that surrounds my life these days. my goal was to simply not think while they were here and to just go with the flow.
mission fucking accomplished.
i had a very bittersweet day yesterday. after a lot of hugging goodbye and even more cleaning when i got home, i found myself sitting in the living room in my new chair looking around at how empty my apartment looked and sounded. the day before the place was bursting at the seems with laughter and conversation of great memories. and then as fast as it all happened, it all came to an end. it was a really sad moment. i need more awesome times like that. i hate when good times come to an end. today was the first day back at work, always the sign of a good time ending.
so, to summarize:
-to many of my great friends live way to far away.
-Pearl Jam know how to rock like no other.
-my dream girl is engaged to one of my best friends.
-i think i have a crush on a certain lady in the mile high city.
-german beer can kick your ass.
-a new reagan set can make any bad day suddenly incredible.
-and pictures of girls masturbating rule.
can't let a journal entry get by without mentioning some basketball. during all the madness my mighty Pistons squeaked by the Cavaliers. great series, and i can't say how much i enjoyed watching the Cavs play. i wouldn't have minded seeing them win. i'm glad they didn't, but if they did i would have been very happy for them. Lebron James is fucking amazing. that's all that need to be said about that.
well i supposed that is enough for now. there are about 50 more wonderful stories that came from the last week. other stories for other days i suppose. to all of you that were wondering were i was and sent me IM's and messages, the fact that i was on your mind is very appreciated. you people are fantastic.
if you read this far, thanks.
Damn, there's a shitload of blue comments in your journal. I'm such a stalker.
And you're welcome, btw. For the other stuff. Very much so.
