I was flipping through the channels as I was eating some cheeseburgers. Fox News was on, nope. ESPN, nope. Then as I changed the channel I saw that train that goes to happyville or wherever it was called. Mister Rogers was on TV. So I decided to watch. He was just finishing up his show. He was talking about emotions. He said that not everyone is happy all the time. Not everyone is sad all the time. Not everyone is angry all the time, and it was okay to be angry, sad, or happy sometimes. He delivers all of this in such a manner that doesn't come off as preachy, and he's such a mellow guy that he entrances you and you really pay attention to what he is saying. Then he sang his song, put his cardigan away, put on the suit coat, and took off.
Those few moments I was watching him, I just had the most tranquil, relaxed feeling. Maybe it had something to do with getting back to my childhood. I was more of a Sesame Street fan though. Whatever it is, Mister Rogers makes you feel comfortable and peaceful. Instead of drugs, maybe we should be prescribing more Mister Rogers. I think the world would be a better place if we all were a little more like him.
