Generation TV Mixdown pt. 1
Was able to go up with Andy and George who tagged along for the ride. Philmore wanted us to stop and get some blank tapes so we stopped at our local Eckerd Drugs down here. What was supposed to be a quick stop ended up being a fatty feast as we spied new kinds of Tastykakes and much to our delight all 3 of the monster cereals! Finding Frankenberry and Boo-Berry around these parts is a rarity indeed! Guess 'coz it's getting near Halloween time. We kept cracking up the people around us in the checkout line with our "fatty heroin" cracks.
Our little shopping spree made us a little late. When we pulled up Phil informed us his DAT machine is done. He couldn't get it to work at all. He was trying different things with George's help as us fatties chowed down.
Philmore decided just to mix straight into his computer. We also had a cassette tape running for our own copy. That way Andy can relentlessly play it over and over to see if he's really happy with the mix. Mixdown is a painfully slow process but you want everything just right. We got the first 6 songs done in about 3 1/2 hours of work. I thought everything sounded great at the studio and even on the cassette copy on my shitty car stereo on the ride home. I'm sure Andy will play it on several systems to make his final call. I trust his ears on this one. And I sure don't wanna hear no bitchin' a year from now if he decides he don't like the mix!
